Witness the alluring beauty of Hunza Valley’s cherry blossom season in full swing as you meander your way through the ancient cobbled streets of Karimabad Bazaar and get lost in this picture postcard village while exploring Nagar.

Immerse yourself in the linguistic and cultural diversity of the Astore Valley; a historical paradise with endless trekking options and a landscape, which changes dramatically every few kilometers.

Visit Shangrila and take in the spectacular panoramic views of the Kachura Lakes in the enchanting village of Skardu before travelling through the Cold Desert to seek refuge in the tranquil Shigar Fort, known for its ancient tales of folklore and legend.

+ All hotels outlined in the itinerary are subject to availability and in the event of any overbookings, a hotel of the same/similar standard will be arranged.

Itinerary

Day 1Arrival at Islamanad International Airport

  • Arrive at the Meeting Point/Islamabad Airport where you will be received by one of our representatives and transferred to your hotel. With some flights arriving in the late afternoon, guests can relax for the rest of the evening in anticipation of the busy and active itinerary ahead. 
  • Overnight stay in Islamabad.

Day 2Departure to Gilgit

  • Today, guests will be transferred to Islamabad Airport where they will be taking a domestic flight to Gilgit. At Gilgit Airport, they will be allocated their motorbikes and the first part of the trip will begin on the Karakoram Highway as we head to Hunza Valley.
  • We will ride to Baltit Fort, once a prime seat of power and now a UNESCO site with a rich history that can be traced back to over 700 years ago.
  • Riding in this extreme northern part of Pakistan and deep within the Karakoram Mountains will provide for several opportunities for guests to stop and sightsee at nearby towns and valleys along the way. 
  • Next, we will take a private tour of the dungeons at Altit Fort which is situated in the revered Royal Gardens of Hunza where lush apricot trees and cherry blossoms are plentiful. 
  • Later, we will ride to Duikar’s vantage point to witness the sun set over the Karakoram Range in the company of 6 giant peaks that extend 6,000m above sea level.
  • Overnight stay in Karimabad, Hunza Valley.

Day 3Visiting Hunza

  • After breakfast, we will venture out to try the famous apricot cake of Hunza Valley against the backdrop of the majestic Passu Cones.
  • Today we will be heading to Khunjerab Pass, riding past the famous Attabad Lake with its dizzyingly turquoise waters, through the newly constructed Pak-China friendship tunnels and across the Wildlife Conservation Area in Khyber where you can go wildlife spotting for ibex, snow leopards and marmots.
  • At the Khunjerab Pass, the highest border-crossing in the world which is situated over 4,000m above sea level, guests will have the opportunity to engage in an enchanting multi-cultural experience that spans across Pakistan and China.
  • After spending some time at the international border, we will retreat to Sost to check out the local street markets before heading to Hunza Valley. 
  • Overnight stay in Karimabad, Hunza Valley.

Day 4Visitng Nagar

  • After breakfast, we will be riding through the Nagar district of Gilgit-Baltistan to reach Hoper Glacier, a secluded beauty spot, which offers views of the beautiful villages of Nagar and the flowing Hunza River.
  • In the afternoon, guests will have the opportunity to explore Karimabad, meet the locals, experience the culture and take in the mesmerising sights of this quaint and picturesque village. There will also be the option to indulge in the famous walnut cake at Café de Hunza. 
  • Overnight stay in Karimabad, Hunza Valley.

Day 5Visitng Astore

  • Today, we will be making our way to Astore Valley, a trekker’s paradise with its lush green pastures and wild forests, which have been safely preserved by the locals who are fluent in true Pakistani hospitality.  
  • Later in the day we will be taking a trip to Rama Lake situated in the foothills of Nanga Parbat. Surrounded by thick pine forests and mini-glaciers, this hidden delight, which is off the beaten track is a favourite for many given its remote location. 
  • Overnight stay in Astore Valley.

Day 6Visiting Skardu

  • Today we will be making our way to Skardu passing through the Deosai National Park otherwise known as the “Land of the Giants,”a high altitude alpine plateau elevated at over 4,000m above sea level and with views of the Himalayas.
  • With its unexplainable beauty, we will be exploring the flora and fauna in this wildlife wilderness and keeping an eye out for the many endangered species of animals, which call this park home such as the Himalayan Brown Bears, Golden Marmots and Tibetan Wolves.
  • After a quick stop at Sheosar Lake, Kala Pani and Bara Pani to enjoy the breathtaking views, we will head to the hotel. 
  • Overnight stay in Skardu.

Day 7Skardu

  • Guests will ride to Shangrila, a resort that encircles a heart shaped lake with fruit laden orchards of apples, pears and cherries set in perfectly manicured gardens.
  • Nestled amongst some of the highest peaks in the world, we will witness the raw beauty of the Lower and Upper Kachura Lakes, which make for some captivating scenes of the rustic surroundings.
  • We will make our way through the Cold Desert, the highest desert in the world and one where temperatures can reach as low as -25C before reaching Shigar Fort, a 17th century restored fortress-palace that was previously home to the Raja of Baltistan.
  • Overnight stay in Skardu.

Day 8Departure to Islamabad

  • Today, guests will take the domestic flight back to Islamabad from Gilgit Airport and the rest of the day can be spent relaxing.
  • In the unfortunate event that the flight is cancelled, as is often the case due to weather conditions, we will begin our journey back to Islamabad in an air-conditioned van via the Babusar Pass or the Karakoram Highway depending on road and traffic conditions.
  • Once we reach Besham/Naran, we will check in to our hotel for the evening.
  • Overnight stay in Islamabad or Besham/Naran.

Day 9 Stay at Islamabad

  • This day is allocated for any potential delays in case the domestic flight does not operate as normal. 
  • In the event that we are in Islamabad, guests will have the opportunity to see some of the sights the capital has to offer such as the Faisal Mosque, which is nestled at the foot of the Margalla Hills and inspired by strong Islamic cultural characteristics. Time permitting we may also visit Daman-e-Koh, a viewing point which offers stunning panoramic views across Islamabad. 
  • In the event that we are leaving from Besham/Naran, we will continue the remainder of our journey back to Islamabad on a road-trip laden with glaciers, lakes and the lush green Alpine forest of the Kaghan Valley.
  • Overnight stay in Islamabad.

Day 10Departure from Islamabad International Airport

After a hearty breakfast and a bittersweet farewell, guests will be transferred to Islamabad Airport/Departure Point in time for their international flights/pick-up
