Motorbike Hunza Valley, Fairy Meadows and Skardu Tour 10 Days
Day 1
- Arrive at the Meeting Point/Islamabad Airport where you will be received by one of our representatives and transferred to your hotel. With some flights arriving in the late afternoon, guests can relax for the rest of the evening in anticipation of the busy and active itinerary ahead.
- In the evening, we will have a briefing of the trip ahead during the welcome dinner.
- Overnight stay in Islamabad.
Day 2
- Today, guests will be transferred to Islamabad Airport where they will be taking a domestic flight to Gilgit. At Gilgit Airport, they will be allocated their motorbikes and the first part of the trip will begin on the Karakoram Highway as we head to Hunza Valley.
- We will ride to Baltit Fort, once a prime seat of power and now a UNESCO site with a rich history that can be traced back to over 700 years ago.
- Riding in this extreme northern part of Pakistan and deep within the Karakoram Mountains will provide for several opportunities for guests to stop and sightsee at nearby towns and valleys along the way.
- Next, we will take a private tour of the dungeons at Altit Fort which is situated in the revered Royal Gardens of Hunza where lush apricot trees and cherry blossoms are plentiful.
- Later, we will ride to Duikar’s vantage point to witness the sun set over the Karakoram Range in the company of six giant peaks that extend 6,000m above sea level.
- Overnight stay in Karimabad, Hunza Valley.
Day 3
- After breakfast, we will venture out to try the famous apricot cake of Hunza Valley against the backdrop of the majestic Passu Cones.
- Today we will be heading to Khunjerab Pass, riding past the famous Attabad Lake with its dizzyingly turquoise waters, through the newly constructed Pak-China friendship tunnels and across the Wildlife Conservation Area in Khyber where you can go wildlife spotting for ibex, snow leopards and marmots.
- At the Khunjerab Pass, the highest border-crossing in the world which is situated over 4,000m above sea level, guests will have the opportunity to engage in an enchanting multi-cultural experience that spans across Pakistan and China.
- After spending some time at the international border, we will retreat to Sost to check out the local street markets before heading to Passu.
- Overnight stay in Passu.
Day 4
- Today, we will take our bikes to Raikot Bridge as we will be heading to the Fairy Meadows.
- At Raikot Bridge, we will travel by jeep to Tatu Village on an off-the-beaten track which is sure to dial up your adrenaline levels and will satisfy the most daring of thrill-seekers.
- After a short hike, we will be greeted by the lush green plateaus and natural serenity of Fairy Meadows, all against the heavenly backdrop of Nanga Parbat, which currently takes the spot of the 9th largest mountain in the world.
- With giant fluffy clouds for company and sights that will literally take your breath away, it will be easy to disconnect from the world you left behind at “Heaven on Earth.”
- Overnight stay in Fairy Meadows.
Day 5
- For early risers, waking up in the midst of dense alpine forest and witnessing the sun rise is sure to be a treat that will have you marvelling at the picturesque sights of Fairy Meadows with the fresh stream of glacial waters and the lambs grazing nearby.
- In the late morning, we will begin our trek down to Tatu Village taking in the sights from an altitude of 3,300m above sea level. Once reaching Tatu, we will pick up the jeeps and make our way to Raikot Bridge.
- In Raikot, we will take our bikes and begin the journey to Skardu riding parallel to the Indus River and across the famous hanging Alam Bridge.
- Overnight stay in Skardu.
Day 6
- Today we will be making our way to Deosai National Park otherwise known as the “Land of the Giants” a high altitude alpine plateau elevated at over 4,000m above sea level and with views of the Himalayas.
- With its unexplainable beauty, we will be exploring the flora and fauna in this wildlife wilderness and keeping an eye out for the many endangered species of animals, which call this park home such as the Himalayan Brown Bears, Golden Marmots and Tibetan Wolves.
- After a quick stop at the ethereal Satpara Lake to enjoy the riveting views we will ride back to Skardu.
- If time permits, we will take a trip to the mighty Kharpocho Fort, which offers stunning views across Skardu and has a history, which dates back to the Mughal era.
- Overnight stay in Skardu.
Day 7
- Guests will ride to Shangrila, a resort that encircles a heart shaped lake with fruit laden orchards of apples, pears and cherries set in perfectly manicured gardens.
- Nestled amongst some of the highest peaks in the world, we will witness the raw beauty of the Lower and Upper Kachura Lakes, which make for some captivating scenes of the rustic surroundings.
- We will make our way through the Cold Desert, the highest desert in the world and one where temperatures can reach as low as -25C before reaching Shigar Fort, a 17th century restored fortress-palace that was previously home to the Raja of Baltistan.
- Overnight stay in Skardu.
Day 8
- Today, guests will take the domestic flight back to Islamabad from Gilgit Airport and the rest of the day can be spent relaxing.
- In the unfortunate event that the flight is cancelled, as is often the case due to weather conditions, we will begin our journey back to Islamabad in an air-conditioned van via the Babusar Pass or the Karakoram Highway depending on road and traffic conditions.
- Once we reach Besham/Naran, we will check in to our hotel for the evening.
- Overnight stay in Islamabad or Besham/Naran.
Day 9
- This day is allocated for any potential delays in case the domestic flight does not operate as normal.
- In the event that we are in Islamabad, guests will have the opportunity to see some of the sights the capital has to offer such as the Faisal Mosque, which is nestled at the foot of the Margalla Hills and inspired by strong Islamic cultural characteristics. Time permitting we may also visit Daman-e-Koh, a viewing point which offers stunning panoramic views across Islamabad.
- In the event that we are leaving from Besham/Naran, we will continue the remainder of our journey back to Islamabad on a road-trip laden with glaciers, lakes and the lush green Alpine forest of the Kaghan Valley.
- Overnight stay in Islamabad.
Day 10
- After a hearty breakfast and a bittersweet farewell, guests will be transferred to Islamabad Airport/Departure Point in time for their international flights/pick-up
