Itinerary

Day 1

Arrive at the Meeting Point/Islamabad Airport where you will be received by one of our representatives and transferred to your hotel. After some rest and relaxation, we will head into Islamabad to see some of the sights the capital has to offer such as the Faisal Mosque, which is nestled at the foot of the Margalla Hills and inspired by strong Islamic cultural characteristics. Time permitting, we will visit Daman-e-Koh, a viewing point offering stunning panoramic views across Islamabad. In the evening, we will have a briefing ahead of the trip ahead during the welcome dinner. Overnight stay in Islamabad.

Day 2

After breakfast, we will begin our Hunza Valley Tour journey towards Hunza Valley, with our first stop-over point in Besham. The Hunza Valley Tour drive will take approximately 7 hours and will take us on the Karakoram Highway, once an important facet of the “Silk Road” route and now considered the 8th wonder of the world. During the Hunza Valley Tour, we will check into our hotel in Besham during the late afternoon, and you can enjoy the rest of the evening at your leisure. Overnight stay in Besham as part of the Hunza Valley Tour experience.

Day 3

Departing early we will continue on our journey making a brief stop at Chilas for lunch. Before reaching Gilgit, we will pass by the Junction Point in Juglot, which is the meeting place for 3 of the mightiest mountain ranges in the world, the Himalayas, the Karakoram and the Hindukush. A brief pit-stop here will allow you to take some envy-inducing snaps of the striking landscape. Overnight stay in Gilgit.

Day 4

This morning we will be heading to Naltar Valley, an isolated haven of sheer beauty, which is nestled among snow-capped peaks and towering forests. The road that leads to the valley is a rough jeep path, which is sure to be an unmissable electrifying adventure on your Hunza Valley Tour. Along the way, you will find yourself parallel to a stream of fresh glacial waters on one side and alpine forests on the other. During the colder months, you can hit the ski slopes as Naltar Valley transforms into a winter wonderland, making it a popular ski resort amongst youngsters and a highlight of the Hunza Valley Tour. After spending the day in the valley, we will continue onto Hunza where we will check in to our hotel for the evening, concluding another exciting day of the Hunza Valley Tour. Day 5

Today, we will take a trip to Baltit Fort, once the prime seat of power in Hunza and now a UNESCO site with a rich history that can be traced back to over 700 years ago. Next, we will take a private tour of the dungeons at Altit Fort, which is situated in the revered royal gardens of Hunza. This will be followed by a visit to a local women’s workshop where handicrafts are the norm. Guests will have the option of trying the popular walnut cake at Café de Hunza as they explore the ancient cobbled streets of Karimabad. Later, we will take a short trek to Duikar’s vantage point to witness the sun set over the magnificent peaks of Karakoram. Overnight stay in Karimabad, Hunza Valley. 

Day 6

After breakfast, we will venture out to try the famous apricot cake of Hunza Valley against the backdrop of the majestic Passu Cones. In the afternoon we will head to Attabad Lake, to witness its dizzyingly turquoise waters amidst the spectacular mountain scenery. After crossing through the Wildlife Conservation Area in Khyber, we will make our way to Khunjerab Pass, the highest border-crossing in the world which serves as an enchanting multi-cultural experience that spans Pakistan and China. After spending some time at the international border, we will retreat to the village of Sost to check out the local street markets before heading back. On our return, we will be visiting the village of Gulmit where we will be treated to a traditional folk music performance by local musicians at Bulbulik School of Music, the first of its kind institution which aims to revive Pamiri folk music which is on the verge of extinction. Overnight stay in Karimabad, Hunza Valley/Gulmit.

Day 7

Today, we will be begin our journey back to Islamabad whilst taking rest at Besham overnight. We will be travelling parallel to the Indus River on the Karakoram Highway whilst witnessing the sights and sounds of the local villages along the way. Overnight stay in Besham.

Day 8

Following breakfast, we will continue the remainder of our journey to Islamabad whilst taking in the staggering mountain scenery, the rough terrains of the road and the welcoming people in the neighbouring villages of Abbottabad, Haripur and Balakot. In Islamabad, we will check into the hotel and an early arrival will allow you to recover from a busy few days. Overnight stay in Islamabad.

Day 9

Today, we will visit the city of Rawalpindi which offers a slice of the real Pakistan with the hustle and bustle of its Raja Bazaar and Moti Bazaar where a story is to be told wherever you look. Experience the exotic smells, taste the local offerings and interact with the locals in a market, which is a full myriad of colours. Next, we will take a trip to Taxila Museum which houses artefacts dating back to the 1st century and where you can unfold the chapters of the lost Ghandaran dynasty. Overnight stay in Islamabad.

Day 10

After a hearty breakfast and a bittersweet farewell, you will be transferred to the Departure Point/Islamabad Airport where our trip will come to an end
