Dial up your adrenaline levels as you cross the most dangerous road in the world when you travel by jeep to Tatu Village on an off-the-beaten track which will leave you hanging on for dear life but will easily feature as one of the main highlights of the Hunza Valley Tour.

Soak up the lush green plateaus and natural serenity of the alpine heaven that is Fairy Meadows, all in the lap of nature and against the heavenly backdrop of the Nanga Parbat, affectionately known as the ‘Killer Mountain.’

Snuggle up beside the roaring bonfire as you find yourself with a warm blanket, a hot cup of tea and nothing but the starry evening sky for company making for an unforgettable experience that you will always cherish.

Visit the region of Gilgit-Baltistan, which is home to the famous Attabad Lake; the stunning result of a natural disaster, which will have you marveling at its crisp turquoise waters as you take in the breathtaking surroundings.

THINGS TO CONSIDER

+ In the event that the road to Naran is closed, we will be making our way to and from Fairy Meadows via Besham.

+ The vast majority of our hotel partners have a 12 noon checkout policy. 

+ All hotels outlined in the itinerary are subject to availability and in the event of any overbookings, a hotel of the same/similar standard will be arranged. 

+ When arranging your international flights it is best practice to confirm the dates and timings with Passage to Pakistan prior to booking.

Itinerary

Day 1

Arrive at Islamabad Airport where you will be received by one of our representatives and transferred to your hotel. With some flights arriving in the afternoon, guests can get some rest and relaxation in anticipation of the busy and active itinerary ahead. In the evening, we will have a briefing ahead of the trip ahead during the welcome dinner. Overnight stay in Islamabad. 

Day 2

Today, we will begin our journey towards Naran whilst taking in the scenery from neighboring towns such as Haripur, Abbottabad, and Balakot. After checking into the hotel, we will take a jeep ride to Saiful Muluk Lake, fondly coined as the “Lake of Fairies” and sitting at an elevation of over 3,000m above sea level. This piece of heaven is situated under the shadows of the mighty Malika Parbat with its snow-capped peaks and tells an Egyptian fairytale of yesteryears making it as enchanting as it is picturesque. Here, you will find multiple glacial waters meeting and several activities on offer such as boating and horse riding.

In addition to Saiful Muluk Lake, our journey will include the breathtaking Fairy Meadows as part of our itinerary. The Fairy Meadows offer stunning views and a serene environment perfect for nature lovers. The trip will also cover the majestic landscapes of the Hunza Valley Tour, ensuring a comprehensive experience of the region’s natural beauty. Overnight stay in Naran.

Day 3

After breakfast, we will continue on our way to Fairy Meadows, crossing through the Karakoram Highway, once an important facet of the “Silk Road” route and now considered as the 8th wonder of the world. At Raikot Bridge, we will travel by jeep to Tatu Village on an off-the-beaten track which is sure to dial up your adrenaline levels and will satisfy even the most daring of thrill-seekers. After a short hike, we will be greeted by the lush green plateaus and natural serenity of Fairy Meadows, all against the heavenly backdrop of Nanga Parbat which currently takes the spot of the 9th largest mountain in the world. For those opting for a more leisurely hike, a horse trek is available from Tatu Village. Overnight stay in Fairy Meadows.

Day 4

For early risers, waking up in the midst of grassy meadows and dense alpine forest is sure to be a treat that will have you marvelling at the picturesque sights of Fairy Meadows. Today will be spent exploring “Heaven on Earth” and you will have the opportunity to trek to Beyal Camp, taking in the fresh stream of glacial waters, the lambs grazing nearby and stopping to have conversations with the locals about the fairytale surroundings. With giant fluffy clouds for company and sights that will literally take your breath away, it will be easy to disconnect from the world left behind. In the evening, the nights are chilly but with a warm blanket and a hot cup of tea you will find yourself at ease as you gaze out at the starry evening sky ahead of you whilst listening to the crackling of burning wood. Day 5

After breakfast, we will begin our trek down to Tatu Village taking in the sights from an altitude of 3,300m above sea level. Once reaching Tatu, we will pick up the jeeps and continue on towards Raikot Bridge where we will make our way towards Gilgit. After a quick stop for lunch in Gilgit City we will continue on towards Hunza Valley where we will check-in to our hotel for the evening. Overnight stay in Karimabad, Hunza Valley.

Day 6

Today, we will take a trip to Baltit Fort, once the prime seat of power in Hunza and now a UNESCO site with a rich history that can be traced back to over 700 years ago. Next, we will take a private tour of the royal chambers and dungeons at Altit Fort which is situated in the revered royal gardens of Hunza where lush apricot trees and cherry blossoms are plentiful. This will be followed by a visit to local women’s workshop where handicrafts are the norm. Guests will have the option of trying the popular walnut cake at Café de Hunza as they explore the ancient cobbled streets of Karimabad. Later, we will take a short trek to Duikar’s vantage point to witness the sun set over the magnificent peaks of Karakoram. Overnight stay in Karimabad, Hunza Valley.

Day 7

After breakfast, we will venture out to try the famous apricot cake of Hunza Valley against the backdrop of the majestic Passu Cones. In the afternoon we will head to Attabad Lake, the stunning result of a natural disaster with azure coloured waters. After crossing through the Wildlife Conservation Area in Khyber, we will make our way to Khunjerab Pass, the highest border-crossing in the world which serves as an enchanting multi-cultural experience that spans Pakistan and China. After spending some time at the international border we will retreat to Sost to check out the local street markets before taking a walk along the Hussaini Suspension Bridge, otherwise known as the most dangerous bridge in the world. Built by the locals and still used today, this bridge is nothing short of an adventure with every step requiring a leap of faith. Overnight stay in Karimabad, Hunza Valley/Gulmit. 

Day 8

Departing early, we will begin the drive back to Naran making our way through the lush green valleys of Kaghan and whilst taking in the scenes of the unspoilt landscape surrounding us. In Naran, we will check in to our hotel for the night. Overnight stay in Naran.

Day 9

Following breakfast, we will continue the remainder of our journey to Islamabad whilst taking in the staggering mountain scenery, the rough terrains of the road and the welcoming people in neighbouring village. We will check in to our hotel in Islamabad where guests will have the opportunity to rest and recover. Soon after, we will head into Islamabad to see some of the sights the capital has to offer such as the Faisal Mosque, which is nestled at the foot of the Margalla Hills and inspired by strong Islamic cultural characteristics. In the evening, we will finish the days events by heading to Pir Sohawa to enjoy a farewell dinner at the famous Monal restaurant which offers the finest views of Islamabad from a stunning vantage point. Overnight stay in Islamabad. 

Day 10

After a hearty breakfast and a bittersweet farewell, you will be transferred to Islamabad Airport where our trip will come to an end.
