Hunza Valley Tour – 10 Days Spring

Arrive at the Meeting Point/Islamabad Airport where you will be received by one of our representatives and transferred to your hotel. After some rest and relaxation, we will head into Islamabad to see some of the sights the capital has to offer such as the Faisal Mosque, which is nestled at the foot of the Margalla Hills and inspired by strong Islamic cultural characteristics. Time permitting, we will visit Daman-e-Koh, a viewing point offering stunning panoramic views across Islamabad. In the evening, we will have a briefing ahead of the trip ahead during the welcome dinner. Overnight stay in Islamabad.

After breakfast, we will begin our journey towards Hunza Valley with our first stop-over point in Naran. The drive will take approximately 7 hours and will take us on the Karakoram Highway, once an important facet of the “Silk Road” route and now considered as the 8th wonder of the world. We will check into our hotel in Naran during the late afternoon and you can enjoy the rest of the evening at your leisure. Overnight stay in Naran.

Departing early we will continue on our journey making a brief stop at the Lulusar Lake to take in the crystal clear waters of this natural unspoilt landscape. Making our way through the lush green valleys of Kaghan, our next stop will be at the elevated Babusar Top which we will reach via one of the most famous hairpinned roads in the world. After a bite to eat in Gilgit City we will check in to our hotel. Overnight stay in Gilgit.

This morning we will be heading to Naltar Valley, an isolated haven of sheer beauty, nestled among snow-capped peaks and towering forests. The road that leads to the valley is a rough jeep path, an unmissable electrifying adventure as part of your Hunza Valley Tour. Along the way, you will find yourself parallel to a stream of fresh glacial waters and alpine forests on the other. Once we reach our destination, we will be greeted by 3 magnificent lakes, collectively known as the Bashkiri Lakes, with spell-binding sights that will leave you awe-struck and captivated by the vivid spring colors on display.

After spending the day in the valley, we will continue onto Hunza for the Hunza Valley Tour, where we will check in to our hotel for the evening. Today, we will take a trip to Baltit Fort, once the prime seat of power in Hunza and now a UNESCO site with a rich history that can be traced back to over 700 years ago. This is part of your Hunza Valley Tour. Next, we will take a private tour of the dungeons at Altit Fort, which is situated in the revered royal gardens of Hunza where lush apricot trees are plentiful and cherry blossoms are in full bloom. This adventure is a highlight of the Hunza Valley Tour.

Following this, you will visit a local women’s workshop where handicrafts are the norm. Guests on the Hunza Valley Tour will have the option of trying the popular walnut cake at Café de Hunza as they explore the ancient cobbled streets of Karimabad. Later, we will take a short trek to Duikar’s vantage point to witness the sunset over the magnificent peaks of Karakoram. This picturesque view is a perfect end to your Hunza Valley Tour.

After breakfast, we will venture out to try the famous apricot cake of Hunza Valley against the backdrop of the majestic Passu Cones. In the afternoon we will head to Attabad Lake, to witness its dizzyingly turquoise waters amidst the spectacular mountain scenery. After crossing through the Wildlife Conservation Area in Khyber, we will make our way to Khunjerab Pass, the highest border-crossing in the world which serves as an enchanting multi-cultural experience that spans Pakistan and China. After spending some time at the international border, we will retreat to the village of Sost to check out the local street markets before heading back. On our return, we will be visiting the village of Gulmit where we will be treated to a traditional folk music performance by local musicians at Bulbulik School of Music, the first of its kind institution which aims to revive Pamiri folk music which is on the verge of extinction. Today, we will be setting off for Naran on a road-trip laden with glaciers, lakes and lush green Alpine forest. After checking into the hotel, we will take a jeep ride to Saiful Muluk Lake, fondly coined as the “Lake of Fairies” and sitting at an elevation of over 3,000m above sea level. This piece of heaven is situated under the shadows of the mighty Malika Parbat with its snow-capped peaks and tells an Egyptian fairytale of yesteryears making it as enchanting as it is picturesque. Here, you will find multiple glacial waters meeting and several activities on offer such as boating and horse riding. Overnight stay in Naran.

Following breakfast, we will continue the remainder of our journey to Islamabad whilst taking in the staggering mountain scenery, the rough terrains of the road and the welcoming people in the neighbouring villages of Abbottabad, Haripur and Balakot. In Islamabad, we will check into the hotel and an early arrival will allow you to recover from a busy few days. Overnight stay in Islamabad.

Today, we will visit the city of Rawalpindi which offers a slice of the real Pakistan with the hustle and bustle of its Raja Bazaar and Moti Bazaar where a story is to be told wherever you look. Experience the exotic smells, taste the local offerings and interact with the locals in a market, which is a full myriad of colours. Next, we will take a trip to Taxila Museum which houses artefacts dating back to the 1st century and where you can unfold the chapters of the lost Ghandaran dynasty. Overnight stay in Islamabad.

After a hearty breakfast and a bittersweet farewell, you will be transferred to the Departure Point /Islamabad Airport where our trip will come to an end.
